As the situation escalated, Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert grabbed Thompson in an effort to pull him off of his teammate.

Gobert didn't understand why he was fined, and said Wednesday that he was trying to be a "peacemaker" in the situation. He plans to file an appeal with the league.
