Louisiana State star Angel Reese, the NCAA women’s basketball tournament Most Outstanding Player last season, did not play a minute during the Tigers’ 73-50 win over Southeaster Louisiana Friday night.
Reese’s absence comes three days after she was benched for the entire second half of a win against Kent State.
Reese’s benching and absence has the rumor mill running in high gear, but she urged fans to not get caught up in the gossip.
Mulkey provided only a vague answer when asked about the star forward following the game against Southeastern Louisiana.
Reese hasn’t spoken publicly about the drama, but former and current LSU players have had plenty to say on social media.
I carry the weight of the world on my shoulders & everyday isn’t easy for me,” Reese said on a video posted on Tiktok.
The Tigers have won five straight since then, but clearly something is going on behind the scenes.
