Lainey Wilson Releasing “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” as Next Single After Dominating CMAs

Lainey Wilson revealed that “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” will be the next single from her 2022 album Bell Bottom Country after her five-win night at the 2023 CMA Awards.

Wilson's electrifying CMAs performance introduced “Wildflowers and Wild Horses” to television. Wilson reflects on her country roots and declares her toughness and resolve to succeed in the outlaw-country-inspired song, accompanied by rocking, twangy guitar.

Wilson, Trannie Anderson, and Paul Sikes wrote the song. It follows up to her No. 7 Hot Country Songs and No. 1 Country Airplay single, “Watermelon Moonshine.”

Wilson had a record nine nominations for Wednesday night's CMAs and won for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year (for Bell Bottom Country), Female Vocalist, Music Video, and Musical Event of the Year for her duet with HARDY, “wait in the truck.”

“I’ve been in this town 12-and-a-half years, and it finally feels like country music is starting to love me back,” Wilson cried as she earned Entertainer of the Year. “I love it wholeheartedly.”

She captioned a Facebook photo slideshow, “CMAs, you were everything nine year old Lainey dreamed about.”

To end 2023, Wilson will perform at the Country Bay Music Festival in Key Biscayne, Florida, on November 11 and a four-show Las Vegas residency at The Theater at Virgin Hotels from December 13 to 16.

She will begin a busy 2024 with a March 8 performance in Thackerville, Oklahoma before touring Australia and Europe.

After returning from Europe, Wilson will begin her 2024 Country's Cool Again North American Tour from late May to mid-November.
